The layer replaces previous tsunami evacuation zones with a single tsunami evacuation zone (blue zone). The single (blue) zone replaces the previous three coloured zones (red, orange and yellow) to make it simpler for people to understand the evacuation zones (and maps).</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 6 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>The new tsunami evacuation zone has been updated to align with LINZ High Water Spring, current aerial imagery and recent additional tsunami modelling undertaken for different sections of the coastline.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 6 0;"><SPAN>The blue zone adjacent to the coastline within the Tauranga City Council boundary have been informed by modelling conducted by Tonkin + Taylor in 2013 and 2020. The remainder of the blue zone across the Bay of Plenty coastline has been informed by modelling conducted by GNS Science, eCoast and previous evacuation zones (based on the furthest inland extent).</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
